This traditional armchair has a characteristic fan filling the backrest. The plywood seat can be upgraded with a relief and the upholstered version with decorative studs framing the seat and top part of the backrest.

Michael Thonet (1796-1871), born in Germany, was a designer specialising in ‘bentwood'. Thonet and his sons set up a bentwood furniture factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem in 1861.  In 1876, Chair No. 18 - one of the first models which was produced here and is still a part of our portfolio today.
